Exhibit explores history of health care in the valley

WILMINGTON- One hundred years ago, Putnam Memorial Hospital opened its doors in Bennington, and since then, a lot has changed. Putnam Memorial Hospital became Southwestern Vermont Health Care. Its subsidiary, Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, manages practices in neighboring communities, including SVMC Deerfield Valley campus in Wilmington, and Mountain Medical at Mount Snow in Dover.
In honor of its centennial year and in partnership with the SVHC Deerfield Valley Regional Advisory Board, SVHC presents artifacts, stories, and images from its 100-year history. The “A Century of Caring,” exhibition will open Tuesday, September 18, at Historic Memorial Hall, 14 West Main Street. Admission is free.
