VAC Grant applications available for established and emerging artists
The Vermont Arts Council is now accepting applications for its annual Creation Grant, which supports individual artists or artist groups in creating new work. Changes this year include grant awards that are a flat amount of $5,000 and a new option of $10,000 awards for performing arts groups.
Grant funds may be used to compensate artists for time spent creating new work, to purchase materials, or to rent equipment or space for the process. Examples of fundable projects include multimedia artists creating a new video series, writers completing the first draft of a novel, dance ensembles developing choreography for a new piece, visual artists creating art for exhibition that explores new subjects and techniques or musicians composing music for a new album.
This highly competitive program is reviewed by an independent panel of practicing artists and arts professionals. Both established and emerging artists are encouraged to apply.
Applications will be accepted through Sunday, April 5. Funding notifications will go out in late August, and the grant period is Tuesday, September 1, through Tuesday, August 31, 2027.
The council accepts grant applications via an online form. If an alternate format or assistance to accessing the application is needed please contact the grant program manager, Dominique Gustin, (802) 402-4602 or dgustin@vermontartscouncil.org; or Michele Bailey, accessibility coordinator, mbailey@vermontartscouncil.org or (802) 402-4614. Voice and relay calls are welcome.
