Southern Vermont Emerging Leaders nominations sought

The Southern Vermont Young Professionals (SoVTYP) and Shires Young Professionals (SYP) are seeking nominations for the 2026 Southern Vermont Emerging Leaders awards, which honor community and professional leaders in all fields, who are between the ages of 21 and 40.

Each year, the Southern Vermont Young Professionals (a program of BDCC) and the Shires Young Professionals (an affiliate of the Southwestern Vermont chamber of commerce) highlight and honor young adults who are leaders and change-makers in the region’s economy and communities through the Emerging Leaders awards. Nearly 200 local leaders have received awards since the program started in 2018. Of those, 44 were subsequently recognized as Vermont Business magazine’s Rising Stars.

Given the aging demographics of Vermont, recognizing and encouraging young business leaders is that much more important, and this area of the state has many newcomers, and longer-term residents as well, with diverse experience and backgrounds that are strengths when addressing the challenges faced in southern Vermont.

Nominations are due Friday, March 20. To submit a nomination go to www.sovermontzone.com/emerging-leaders. For more information go to the website or email Rachel Shields Ebersole at rsebersole@brattleborodevelopment.com.
