Howard Levy 4, Eugene Friesen to perform at Next Stage

Next Stage Arts, 15 Kimball Hill, presents Eugene Friesen plus The Howard Levy 4 on Saturday, July 25, at 7:30 pm. Doors open at 6:45.
Opening the evening is cellist Eugene Friesen, whose musicianship is considered to be among the most distinctive voices in contemporary cello. Friesen is also a founding member of Trio Globo with Levy and Glen Velez. Friesen’s educational work, including the “CelloMan” program, has inspired audiences and students around the world.
The Howard Levy 4 is a Chicago-based ensemble that blends jazz, blues, Latin, Brazilian, and world music. Joining Levy are guitarist Chris Siebold, bassist Joshua Ramos, and Brazilian drummer Luiz Ewerling. The quartet, led by Howard Levy, performs arrangements of American and Brazilian classics along with a collection of original compositions.
Tickets are $24 in advance, $28 at the door, and $10 for the livestream, and are available at nextstagearts.org.
