Marlboro group three performs at the Brattleboro Music Center

Violinist Oliver Neubauer, Judith Serkin playing cello, and Solomon Ge on piano.

The Brattleboro Music Center (BMC) Chamber Series presents musicians from Marlboro group three on Saturday, April 11, at 7 pm at the BMC campus, 72 Blanche Moyse Way. This season’s third touring ensemble showcases outstanding singers: Bridget Esler, soprano; Chihiro Asano, mezzo-soprano; and Patrick Bessenbacher, tenor, will perform vocal works by Brahms, Schumann, and Britten, with pianist Lydia Brown.

The program will begin and end with performances by Oliver Neubauer, violin; Judith Serkin, cello; and Solomon Ge, piano, playing two of Haydn’s most inviting piano trios. Piano Trio in E-flat minor, Hob. XV:31 is considered one of his most dramatic and emotionally charged chamber works. In contrast, Haydn’s Piano Trio in C major, Hob. XV:27 combines elegance, wit, and inventive thematic development.

Tickets are $30 general admission and are available at bmcvt.org, by calling (802) 257-4523 or emailing info@bmcvt.org.
