McKim, others to perform in Guilford Community Church fundraiser

Concert pianist Bill McKim headlines a piano benefit concert on Saturday, February 21 at 2 pm at the Guilford Community Church, 38 Church Drive.

McKim is an alumnus of the New England Conservatory in Boston and performed for many years on radio, television, and in concert halls such as the Gardner Museum, delighting audiences for nearly 20 piano performances.

McKim will perform a selection of beloved pieces of classical piano repertoire, including Chopin and other composers.

Joining McKim will be talented members and friends of the congregation, including instrumentalist Dennis Price performing a flute solo, “In the Bleak Midwinter” and possibly one more piece. He will accompany daughter Emma Schneider, a well-known local soprano, who will sing two Faure songs. Katharine Breunig will perform the familiar hymn “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” by Thomas A. Dorsey, with piano accompaniment by Rachel Johnson.

There will be no advance ticket sales. Suggested donation is $15 to $20, payable as cash or check. Complimentary light refreshments will be served following the concert downstairs in the Zeller Hall.

All proceeds from the concert series benefit the church, which is handicap accessible, and actively supports numerous local programs and organizations serving the wider community.
