Aging in Place: Personal honor, moral integrity missing

It can certainly be said that I have read far too many 19th century novels in my lifetime, books stuffed with protestations about personal and family honor, good character, and integrity. Which may be why I am surprised to see and hear absolutely nothing about moral integrity in today’s world.
I suppose dueling pistols at dawn has gone the way of the dodo bird, but how is it that it left without so much as a peep?
Does anyone prize their personal honor any more, or is it broadly accepted that lying can be an approved behavior now?
