VT cheeses take home gold, silver, bronze

Grafton Village Cheese Company’s Bear Hill takes gold for its sheep’s milk cheese.
Vermont cheese makers swept the American Cheese Society (ACS) competition with a record-breaking 54 total awards. Part of this showing for local agriculture were sister brands Grafton Village Cheese Company and Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company, securing three major accolades each. The ACS awards celebrate quality-driven dairy.

Grafton Village cheese winners were the Bear Hill, sheep’s milk cheese, gold medal; Storyteller, American-made, international style cheese, silver medal; and Shepsog cheddars, bronze medal.
Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company blends old-world recipes with creative innovation. Using 100% Vermont milk, these cheesemakers celebrate local food culture through both traditional styles and unique flavor profiles. The Vermont Farmstead Cheese winners included maple bacon cheddar, gold Medal; brie, bronze medal; and smoked brie, bronze medal.
