IB program to stay at Dover School

Dover Elementary School is keeping its International Baccalaureate program after a long-running debate over whether its benefits to students outweigh its costs and the extra work for teachers and administrators to keep it running.

Voters in the River Valleys Unified School District decisively approved the continuation of IB at its annual meeting late Tuesday despite a call by teachers earlier this year to end Dover’s status as an IB school, and arguments by some parents that the IB is a costly addition to the public school curriculum.
