Jacksonville looks forward to a new general store

This village is getting a new general store after about five years without a retailer selling a full range of groceries and other essentials.

A building near the intersection of Routes 100 and 112 in the center of the village is slowly filling with shelving, counters, and other equipment. It is expected to open by the end of May.

Teri Colborn, a native Vermonter who has moved back from North Carolina to buy the building and open the new store, said she hopes to open for business by the end of May. She declined further comment.
