Dorothy (Nicolan) Medeiros

Dorothy (Nicolan) Medeiros, 94, of Readsboro, died May 2, after a brief stay at Southwestern Medical Center. She was born on September 17, 1931, in Fall River, MA, to Alice and Jack Nicolan. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She loved to read, play cards and Uno, and sew, even making her daughter a wedding gown. Dottie also enjoyed going to her son-in-law Bob's auction every Saturday night. She would help her daughter, Donna, in the office and loved meeting all the people. Everyone loved her. Dottie loved it when her grandson, Colby, would visit and bring his guitar. He would play his guitar and sing to her; it made her very happy.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Lee Lambert and her husband, Bob, of Whitingham; grandchildren Colby Jude Lambert, Jared Lambert, and Savannah Lee Lambert; a brother, Leonard Nicolan; and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Alfred Medeiros, and eight siblings: John, Frank, Eddy, Bill, George, Henry, Alice, and Theresa.

Services are in the care of Covey Allen & Shea Funeral Home, Wilmington. Visitation will take place at Hanson, Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home, 213 Main Street, from 10 to 11am, on Monday, May 11. Services will follow, at 11:30 am, at Sacred Heart Saint Francis de Sales Church, 238 Main Street.
