Manuela Kravarik

Manuela Kravarik

Manuela Kravarik, 97, died on March 20. She was born in Bucharest, Romania on August 14, 1928. She survived World War II and immigrated to New York city in 1949 via a circuitous route, at the behest of her father and mother. She moved to Dallas, TX, where Manuela made friends in the newly formed and growing US Air Force. Fate brought her to Martin E. Kravarik, an Air Force pilot, and they were married on March 11, 1961. After her husband’s service in the Air Force was completed, they moved to Irvington, NJ with her husband’s family. They lived, worked, and raised a family there until her husband’s passing in 2018.

After selling her house she moved to Wilmington, VT, and lived with her son Martin and daughter-in-law Meiling. She was fiercely independent up to the very end, and was a constant companion at all events with family and friends. She is greatly loved and missed.

Funeral services for Manuela were held on Thursday, March 26, at Covey, Allen & Shea Funeral Home, 44 East Main Street, Wilmington.
