Local athlete Linnehan qualifes for national team trials in Taekwondo

Giovanni Linnehan secures four gold and a silver at Hudson Valley Community College during a Taekwondo Circuit Adidas Combat Sports event.
Giovanni Linnehan, 11, competed in the Adirondack Traditional Taekwondo Circuit Adidas Combat Sports event at Hudson Valley Community College. He received four gold medals: one each in Olympic sparring; point sparring; continuous board breaking, a timed event; and power breaking, where he broke 17 boards with his foot. Linnehan also received a silver medal in the forms division. He is now qualified for the world event/national team trials in Orlando, FL, Wednesday, July 1 through Sunday, July 5, and is seeking sponsors or donors to help with the cost of traveling to and competing in the event.
