For the first time in several years, Twin Valley Middle High School will not put a varsity softball team on the field.

Athletic Director Buddy Hayford said there was some skepticism over the winter from softball coach Fran Cunningham and some of the players as to whether the school would be able to field a team, but the decision was not finalized until near the end of March.

The team graduated several seniors last year and, while there are still members from last year’s team interested in playing, there is not enough new interest to field a team.
