Nights of entertainment and fun in Bennington

The Bennington Theater announces upcoming events for July.

On Friday, July 17, Melissa Chilinski, Brielle Petrie, Natalie Padilla, and Yann Falquet will offer an evening of folk music centered around storytelling. The bar opens at 6:30 pm, with the concert starting at 7:30.

“Only in Bennington,” a live evening of storytelling, starring Bennington residents, is coming on Wednesday, July 22, at 7 pm, doors open at 6. This is true life, stand-up storytelling: 22 slides that change every 20 seconds accompany the storyteller.

New Works Series presents “Kazuri,” a play in progress. Local actors will perform an enhanced staged reading after six hours of rehearsal. Featuring Shawn Paper, Nathan Johnson, and Jeannine Haas, and directed by Kathleen Thunberg, the performance will be Thursday, July 23, at 7 pm.

“Sync Up with Sue” line dancing takes place on Friday, July 31, at 7 pm; bar opens at 6. The class will break down the dance moves to the simplest form for beginners, but experienced line dancers are welcome. Following the lessons there will be an open dance with mainstream songs as well as some country tunes. Admission is $15.
