Rock River Players present Tom Ely Festival

Cast members Miles Ledoux and Dyana Lee rehearse a scene from "Advocate for the Dead," one of three short plays presented as part of the annual Tom Ely Festival of One-Acts.

The Rock River Players continue the spring tradition of offering a lineup of short plays to the public, officially renaming the production the Annual Tom Ely Festival of One-Acts, in memory of a beloved participant who embodied the spirit of community theater in the region. Performances will take place at the Williamsville Hall, 35 Dover Road, Friday and Saturday, May 22 and 23, at 7 pm; and Sunday, May 24, at 3 pm.

For the fifth year running, the festival will showcase a breadth of local talent, featuring a collection of three short plays, written by area playwrights. The lineup explores the universal themes of family, memory, technology, connection, and grief through three distinct lenses.

The plays include “Advocate for the Dead,” written by Miles Ledoux, directed by Kay Beckett; “The Mockingbird’s Nest,” written by Craig Bailey, directed by Shey Nessralla; and “Work and Play,” written and directed by Jon DeAngelis.
