October 5 to 11 marks the 85th celebration of National Newspaper Week. Since 1940, the Newspaper Association Managers organization has sponsored and supported National Newspaper Week, a weeklong promotion of the newspaper industry in the United States and Canada.   The Deerfield Valley News, The Commons, and Vermont Independent Media join the Vermont Press Association, The New England Newspaper and Press Association, and the many state and national associations in celebrating newspapers. We hope readers will join as well.
