Jewish traditions of death, mourning, and memory
I recently attended three funerals within a month’s time, which prompted me to reflect on the topic of death and mourning. I’ve been thinking how different religions and cultures often share similar beliefs and practices surrounding loss, while at the same time noting traditions that are uniquely their own.
Here I’ll share some Jewish perspectives and customs related to death, grieving, and remembrance.
