St. Mary’s to host Blessing of the Animals for World Animal Day
WILMINGTON - St. Mary’s in the Mountains Episcopal Church will once again host the Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 5, at 11 am, outside the church following the 10 am service.
The event takes place in conjunction with World Animal Day, which is observed on October 4 as an International Day of Action that began in 1931 at a convention of ecologists in Florence, Italy, to highlight the plight of endangered species.
The blessing will be followed by a barbecue which all present are invited to attend.
