Vermont Chapter II of the Red Knights fundraiser ride scheduled for June 27

Over the last 20-plus years, RKMC VT2's fundraisers have helped purchase an average of $4,000 in gas cards per year, distributing more than 150 cards to individuals annually.
In 2001, a small group of active and retired firefighters joined together to create the Vermont Chapter II of the Red Knights (RKMC VT2) in Southern VT/NH. The Red Knights are an international organization of firefighters who enjoy riding motorcycles.
To continue to serve the community, RKMC VT2 has two fundraisers each year to “Help Our Neighbors Beat Cancer.” The proceeds from these events are used to purchase gas cards that are given to people known to be fighting cancer. In rural areas, the distances patients have to drive for treatments can often be extensive. This is one small way everyone can help.
This year, on Saturday, June 27, at the Vernon Recreation Center, 607 Pond Rd, organizers will continue the “Ride to Remember” - honoring all who fight cancer every day. Registration is the day of the event, from 9 to 10 am.

More than 60 raffle prizes valued at over $4,000 will be given away at the 2026 “Ride to Remember” event, and there will bea silent auction for a BBQ grill and an Adirondack-style chair built and donated by one of the chapter members. A fee of $20 includes the ride and a BBQ lunch; event t-shirts and raffle tickets are available for purchase. All funds raised go toward purchasing gas cards for cancer patients.
