Food pantry appreciates generosity of the Deerfield Valley community

To the Editor:
During the holiday season, the Deerfield Valley Food Pantry again witnessed the generosity of the Deerfield Valley community.
The board of directors of the food pantry would like to express their sincere appreciation to the many individuals, businesses, and local organizations who supported the food pantry and our neighbors through food and/or monetary donations. The Deerfield Valley Lions Club and Shaw’s continue to be wonderfully supportive partners. Food collections were organized by Twin Valley Elementary School, Twin Valley Middle High School National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society, Whitingham Community Church, St. Joachim’s Catholic Church, Valley View Saloon and the Southern Vermont Realtors Association and have greatly added to the food and health care items being offered to our neighbors. Lyman’s kindly donated applesauce and Zach Schonberger from Snow Mountain Market donated a variety of items as he refurbishes the store. Everyone’s thoughtful donations, whether small or large, have contributed to ensuring the Food Pantry’s shelves are well stocked for those experiencing food insecurity.
The Food Pantry would not function efficiently without a dedicated team of volunteers. They answer every call for assistance and give countless hours helping with distribution and ensuring that the Food Pantry’s shelves are full. Our sincere appreciation to all of those people who cheerfully accomplish any task they are asked to assume. We are fortunate to live in the Deerfield Valley, a caring and generous community.
