Programs must be audited
To the Editor:
The outrage and hyperbole expressed by authors of the letters published in the August 14 issue of the Valley News because of information released by Gov. Scott to the Trump administration on the SNAP food assistance program is uncalled for. With a federal budget deficit that will lead to default unless reined in, our government must audit all entitlement spending programs to find and eliminate waste and fraud … of which there is plenty.
