Super Supper supports Food 4 Kids program

To the Editor:
The fifth annual Souper Supper was held on Saturday, November 8, at the Dover Town Hall. It was sponsored by the Loose Knit Group, which fundraises to give back to the local community and nonprofit organizations. This event directly supports the Food 4 Kids program—a decade-long effort ensuring the 57 students this year who attend school at Twin Valley, Dover, and Wardsboro have food security over the weekends during the academic year.
The hall was filled to the brim with community members who enjoyed local soups in handmade bowls they took home.
A fundraiser of this magnitude could not have been possible without the help of many volunteers who generously donated their time, delicious soups, and beautiful pottery. Heartfelt thanks go to the following soup makers - Barbara Hyde, Janet Boyd, Bob Pavia, Chris Hudson, Liana Mayle – as well as these businesses – Dover Bar and Grill, the 1846 Tavern, River Valley Market, The Anchor, Trail 87, and the Kitzhoff Inn. In addition, great appreciation goes to the potters who donated their bowls – Amy Pritcher, Karen Horton, Matthew Tell, Sue Coniglio of Windham Hill Designs, Alice Schumacher, and Lloyd Hamovit of Two Rivers Pottery. Grafton Cheese donated their famous cheddar cheeses to accompany the soup meal.
