VSAC helps graduates continue their education
To the Editor:
As a longtime member of the board of directors of the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC), I continue to be impressed with the many ways VSAC can help high school graduates receive the financial and informational resources they need to continue their education. One of those resources is the more than 150 scholarships that can be applied to continuing education, whether it’s in the trades, certification programs or for college.
The majority of scholarships administered by VSAC are awarded to students based on a variety of factors. They include but are not limited to: work ethic, community service or involvement, academic achievement, and financial need.
Most of these scholarships are available to students throughout Vermont. However, three of them are designated for those students who live in one of several Deerfield Valley towns. Two of these are sponsored by the Deerfield Valley Rotary Club. The third, the Twin Valley Success Scholarship, is only for students from Twin Valley High School.
All applications and required documents for VSAC-assisted scholarships must be submitted by February 11. For information about these scholarships and other sources of financial aid, students should contact their school guidance counselor or go to: vsac.org. and type “Scholarships” in the Search function.
