Undefeated Twin Valley boys win state soccer championship

RUTLAND — Surreal. That was the word used by Twin Valley boys’ soccer coach Buddy Hayford and junior midfielder Brayden Brown to describe the feeling following the Wildcats 2-0 win on Saturday over Caledonia United to capture their first Division 4 State Championship title in five years and complete a rarity in sports: an undefeated season.
“It doesn’t feel real. It’s so amazing and I’m just so proud of the guys,” said Brown. “Great season, undefeated. Great team effort and you know, Coach Hayford, he’s the greatest of all time. It’s a great feeling.”
