WILMINGTON — There’s nothing like a great old theater that was built just to be a great old theater, according to local musician Ian Campbell. And for Campbell, Memorial Hall in the heart of Wilmington fits the bill.
Built in 1902 by the New York architectural firm McKim, Meade & White — the most prestigious firm at the turn of the century, which designed the White House renovations of 1902 and Madison Square Garden — Memorial Hall is a “perfectly proportioned” Greek revival miniature of Boston’s Symphony Hall, also built by the firm.
