Former ski industry exec returns to valley to open retail thrift store

WILMINGTON — There’s no place like home for Kelly Pawlak, and Après Vintage Home and Garden is where her heart is.
Pawlak, who began her ski industry career in 1985 at Mount Snow and eventually served as the resort’s general manager from 2005 to 2017, opened a retail thrift store with husband Dan Pawlak earlier this month at the corner of Route 9 and Route 100 in Wilmington. Pawlak left the mountain and served as the president/CEO of the National Ski Areas Association for seven years before returning to southern Vermont.
