WILMINGTON- He has retired, but Randy Schoonmaker isn’t dropping his 30-year love affair with public transit: he’s going to be a volunteer driver.
The outgoing chief executive of The MOOver, with their Holstein-adorned buses that have been plying the roads of southern Vermont since 1996, will soon be driving needy folks to doctors’ offices, supermarkets, opioid treatments or after-school activities, all for free, because they don’t have their own transport, and can’t get around the region any other way.
