Whitingham Selectboard supports Lodge sale

Buyer would create a community center to add to facilities at Municipal Center
WHITINGHAM—Selectboard members approved a plan by a new village organization to buy the historic Masonic Lodge and turn it into a community center, but the board said its support was on the condition that no taxpayer dollars will be used for purchase or renovation of the building.
“The Selectboard supports the project as long as no taxpayer dollars are used,” board members said, according to minutes of their Wednesday, September 2 meeting.
