Selling bear paws, organs is illegal

MONTPELIER - With Vermont’s bear hunting season underway, the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department reminds hunters that the sale of bear paws and internal organs of bears is prohibited. The law prohibiting these sales went into effect last year.
Bear paws and gallbladders are considered valuable in some Asian countries, with such items being sold or resold on the black market.
