Auction of state equipment scheduled for this Saturday

The Department of Buildings and General Services is auctioning a large assortment of state vehicles and equipment to the public, beginning at 10 am, on Saturday, May 9. This in-person physical auction of state vehicles and equipment is expected to be well attended.

A major collection of state vehicles and equipment will be auctioned off to the highest bidder, including dump trucks, plow trucks, loaders, pick-up trucks, vans, fleet passenger vehicles, boats, trailers, mowers and trimmers, tools, tires, miscellaneous parts, and more.

In addition to the auction, there will be a sales booth set up from 8 to 10 am, for surplus “airport sharps.” The “airport sharps” include a selection of hand tools, hunting knives, pocketknives, pocket tools, and cork screws.

This is an absolute auction with no reserves. All vehicles and equipment will be sold to the highest bidder, and the auction will take place rain or shine. State officials are hopeful that a portion of the equipment and vehicles will return to service in Vermont communities.

The auction will be held at the Agency of Transportation Central Garage, 1756 US Route 302, Berlin.

Auction registration and vehicle previews will be held on Friday, May 8, from 11 am to 3 pm, and again on auction day, from 8 am until finished.
