Dubious record of destructive disasters

“Tell me why?
I don’t like Mondays

Bob Geldof, The Boomtown Rats
Mondays have been a tough day for Vermonters in 2023.   Two Mondays in particular, July 10 and December 18.  Both of those days saw torrential rain which caused widespread flooding across the state. Add heavy rains throughout the summer and more localized flooding in August, and 2023 is going to go down in history as the wettest year on record for the state.
