Don McKinley

Donald Sellers McKinley, born September 22, 1933, died at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital on February 15. Born and raised in Tampa FL, Don graduated from Swarthmore College (BS), Northeastern University (MS), and worked as an industrial engineer for Texas Instruments, Inc. for many years in Attleboro, MA, retiring to Jacksonville to raise Christmas trees, produce maple syrup, and raise sheep with his wife, Betsy.

In Whitingham, Don was active with the Lions Club, member of the Whitingham Historical Society, and the VT- NH Christmas Tree Growers Association. He volunteered with the Deerfield Valley Food Pantry. He was an avid gardener, birdwatcher, and environmentalist.

Don is survived by his wife, Elizabeth W McKinley; son, Andrew (Cion Fernando); their daughters, Gabriella and Carlina; his daughter, Catherine E McKinley; and her children, Ephrem and Shalom; and nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held on Saturday May 30, from 2 to 5 pm, at the Halifax Community Hall, 20 Brook Road.
