Library awarded grant
WHITINGHAM - The Whitingham Free Public Library will be awarded $3,549 from the Vermont Department of Libraries under American Rescue Plan Act grants.
The department had been awarded $2,135,819 in ARPA funding to help communities respond directly and immediately to the pandemic and to related economic and community needs through equitable approaches. To achieve ARPA’s purpose with respect to IMLS grants to states, the Vermont Department of Libraries will disburse nearly $1 million of this ARPA funding to all 185 public libraries in Vermont as ARPA grants to public libraries for equipment and supply purchases.
At the Whitingham Free Public Library, the funds will go toward upgrading circulation, patron computers, and library furniture.
