Comedian/storyteller brings show to the region

Next Stage Arts, 15 Kimball Hill, welcomes back award-winning comedian and storyteller Adam Strauss for a special two-night engagement, featuring two of his acclaimed solo shows: “The Mushroom Cure,” on Friday, January 9, and “Before I Forget,” on Saturday, January 10.

“The Mushroom Cure” is a hilarious and moving true story of psychedelics, OCD, and finding hope. The Mushroom Cure follows Strauss’s real-life attempt to treat his debilitating obsessive-compulsive disorder with psychedelics.

Forgetting is hard. Remembering is worse. Laughing is mandatory. In “Before I Forget,” Strauss takes audiences on an odyssey through memory, mortality, and meaning, tackling everything from ancient Greece to artificial intelligence, Alzheimer’s to open relationships. It is a meditation on what it means to remember, what it means to forget, and the impossibility of getting life right

Both shows are at 7:30 pm; doors open at 6:45 pm. Tickets are $22 in advance, $25 at the door or $35 advance for both nights and are available at nextstagearts.org.
