Saturday, October 18, at 7 pm, New Yorker cartoonists Roz Chast and Jason Adam Katzentsein visit MASS MoCA, 1040 MASS MoCA Way, to discuss a highly relatable subject — kitchen anxiety.

In “The Two Saddest Kitchens: A Comics Conversation,” the kitchen is the “heart of the home,” or at least it’s supposed to be. When Chast and Katzenstein admitted to having kitchens that were far from shiny beacons of homemaking, the cartoonists knew there were others who left the dishes to soak for a little too long, and that even when the countertops look tidy, there is often madness lurking at the back of the refrigerator. “The Two Saddest Kitchens” pulls back the curtain on hilarious, all-too-relatable kitchen realities. Chast and Katzenstein will bring these kitchen-based, witty neuroses to the Hunter Center in an evening that will include an interview with MASS MoCA Director Kristy Edmunds.

Purchase a ticket and book combination to save on “The Two Saddest Kitchens” and get it signed by Chast and Katzenstein in the lobby after the talk.
