Online workshop open to anyone affected by substance abuse

WINDHAM COUNTY-The steady drumbeat of stories about overdoses, loss, and criminal activity becomes overwhelming, even in a very compassionate community where so much healing is happening. People may feel helpless and stressed. This is compassion fatigue, which has always existed but is taking a greater toll due to the complications of COVID-19 and an unprecedented spike in substance-use disorders. People need help more than ever. There is hope.
To help those who feel hurt, discouraged or tired, Turning Point is offering a live, online compassion-fatigue workshop via Zoom on Wednesday, June 10, from 1 to 4 pm. This workshop is open to anyone affected by substances and involved in supporting people who struggle. That includes the professional caregivers engaged in treatment, health care, and recovery work, but it also includes everyone in the community: parents, children, and family members of people who struggle, employers and business owners, first responders and law enforcement, local and state representatives; neighbors; school personnel; or even passersby on the street.
To register for this free workshop visit “Eventbrite” online and look for “Caring for Yourself While Taking Care of Others by Turning Point of Windham County” or type this url into a browser:https://www.eventbrite.com/e/caring-for-yourself-while-taking-care-of-ot....
