Agriculture Hall of Fame nominations open
VERMONT - Nominations are now open for the Vermont Agricultural Hall of Fame through www.vtaghalloffame.org. Nominations will be accepted in three categories: “Emerging leaders,” “ag innovators,” and the Lifetime Achievement Award. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, March 11, at 5 pm.
This year the Vermont Agricultural Hall of Fame celebrates 20 years of honoring farmers, producers, and people dedicated to supporting Vermont’s working landscape. Anyone is invited to submit a nomination.
Anyone who is significantly contributing to farming in Vermont, whether they own or work on a farm or provide direct support, is eligible to be nominated. Individuals, partners, families, and collectives, including members of the farmworker community, are all potential candidates. They are all vital to growing Vermont’s food, fiber, and fuel. The Vermont Agricultural Hall of Fame organizing committee encourages nominations from and of Black, Indigenous, and people of color.
Inductees will be recognized at the annual luncheon hosted at the Champlain Valley Fair in Essex Junction, which is celebrating its hundreth year.
