Burr & Burton student wins art contest

MANCHESTER - Green Up Vermont announces that Shterna Gordon, of West Pawlet, is the winner in the grades 9 to 12 category of the Armand Poulin Memorial Green Up Day poster art contest. Gordon is attending grade 11 at Burr & Burton Academy. Cash prizes are awarded to each of the four winners.
The name of the contest is a mouthful but for a great reason; it was renamed in 2020 in honor of longtime contest judge Armand Poulin, who died that year.
Green Up Vermont still has opportunities for kids of all ages to get involved with the writing, jingle, and video contests and encourages kids to share their message and have fun with whichever medium they enjoy the most. And of course, Green Up Vermont hopes they become influencers in their schools and communities by getting out on Green Up Day, Saturday, May 7. Green Up supplies will be distributed to towns in early April. To learn how to get involved with Green Up Vermont go to www.greenupvermont.org.
