Healthcare updates: new hires
Juliette Carr, FNP
TOWNSHEND - Family nurse practitioner Juliette Carr has joined the primary care staff at Grace Cottage Family Health.
Carr holds a master of science-FNP degree from Georgetown University and a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is board-certified as an FNP and as a maternal and newborn RN. In addition, she is a registered herbalist with the American Herbalists Guild and holds an LGBTQ+ SafeZone Certification. She provides gender-affirming, holistic care to adults and children. Before joining the Grace Cottage staff, Carr worked as an adjunct professor at University of Massachusetts-Amherst College of Nursing and as an RN at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.
In addition to seeing patients for general primary care and family medicine, Carr also has a subspecialty in integrative medicine and is a nationally recognized speaker and writer on holistic medicine. She is co-chair of the American Nurses Association of Vermont’s Legislative Advocacy Committee and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing. She is the recipient of both a Southern Vermont Emerging Leader Award and a Rising Stars Award for Top 40 under 40 for community service in 2021.

Tommy Harmon
BENNINGTON - Tommy Harmon, of Manchester, has joined the Southwestern Vermont Health Care Foundation board of directors. He is the immediate past chair of the SVHC board of trustees.
Harmon served on the SVHC board of trustees for 13 years, including five years as chair. He retired as president and CEO of Sonnax Industries, in Bellows Falls, a firm that provides components for rebuilding automatic transmissions to the worldwide market. With more than 40 years’ experience in the financial management of manufacturing firms and their operations, Harmon served CFO for North America AGIE AG, a Swiss-based machine tool manufacturer. He is an active volunteer in the community and has served on the Vermont Business Roundtable board of trustees, the Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center advisory board, and the Manchester school board.
The SVHC Foundation board of directors consists of 20 members. Directors are nominated by members of the board. The SVHC Foundation’s mission is to engage in development and fundraising activities exclusively for the support of the Southwestern Vermont Health Care corporation.
Allison Murphy, FNP
BENNINGTON - Allison Murphy, FNP, has joined Southwestern Vermont Medical Center Orthopedics and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Putnam Physicians. Murphy holds a master of science in nursing from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, a first assistant certification from the University of Rochester in New York, and a bachelor’s in nursing from Southern Vermont College. In addition, she is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Murphy has worked at SVMC since October 2010. She started as a unit coordinator on the hospital’s inpatient units and went on to become a medical-surgical nurse and an operating room nurse. She was a nominee for both the organization’s teamwork award and for the Spirit of Magnet Award in 2019.
