Jewish folk group to lead service

MANCHESTER - Join the Jewish Communities of Southwestern Vermont, Congregation Beth El, Israel Congregation, and Rutland Jewish Center, for a festive kabbalat shabbat led by the renowned musical group Nefesh Mountain, Friday, October 1, from 6:30 to 8 pm at Israel Congregation, 6025 Main Street.
Nefesh Mountain is a band that captures the sound of Appalachia and the soul of Judaism. Nefesh means “soul” in Hebrew. This band’s music - a melding of bluegrass, Celtic, folk, and Eastern European music - is indeed soulful and rousing.
Due to the tremendous response to this shabbat, Israel Congregation no longer has in-person seats available.
