To the Editor:
The Whitingham Selectboard would like to extend its sincere appreciation to Amy Myers-Delaney for her outstanding leadership as Chair of the 2026 Old Home Week Committee.
Three years ago, Amy accepted the challenge of bringing our once-a-decade celebration to life. With countless hours of planning, organization, and quiet determination, she guided an incredible team of volunteers in creating a weekend that celebrated Whitingham’s history while strengthening the bonds of our community.
Throughout the planning process, Amy often reminded us that “it takes a village.” Those words perfectly describe her leadership. Rather than seeking recognition, she consistently credited the many volunteers, organizations, businesses, and residents who generously gave their time and talents. That humility inspired others to become involved and helped make this year’s Old Home Week such an overwhelming success.
Because of Amy’s vision and ability to bring people together, thousands of memories were created through parades, music, fireworks, family activities, worship, and fellowship. She demonstrated that great leadership is not about being in the spotlight, it is about helping others shine.
On behalf of the Selectboard and the residents of Whitingham, we offer our deepest gratitude to Amy Myers-Delaney for her dedication, her servant’s heart, and her remarkable leadership. The success of the 2026 Old Home Week celebration will be remembered for many years to come.
Thank you, Amy, for reminding us that when a community works together, wonderful things can happen.
