Kathryn “Katie” Trask Deedman

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Kathryn “Katie” Trask Deedman on May 29, at the age of 40.

Katie was born on January 8, 1986, in Phoenix, AZ. She spent her childhood and school years in Wilmington, VT, where she formed lifelong friendships and became known for her infectious sense of humor, kind heart, and vibrant personality.

Katie had a gift for making people laugh and feel welcome. She could light up any room with her smile and energy, and her presence brought comfort and joy to those fortunate enough to know her. She loved her friends deeply and cared for the people in her life with all her heart.

A hardworking and determined woman, Katie approached life with strength and resilience. She had a special love for animals and shared an especially close bond with her beloved dog, Whiskey, who brought her endless companionship and happiness.

Katie was predeceased by her father, Charles F. Deedman, in 2011.

She is survived by her mother, Linda Lowman, and stepfather, Loy Lowman; her sister, Jacquelyn Crespo; her niece, Cassidy Deedman; and her nephews, Caden Cotter-Sparrow and Mason Deedman.

Katie’s passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew her. Though her life was cut far too short, the memories she created, the laughter she shared, and the love she gave will remain forever in the hearts of those she touched.

Katie will be remembered for her compassion, generosity, sense of humor, and the light she brought into the lives of others. Her legacy lives on through the countless people who were blessed to know and love her.

There will be no formal services held for Katie. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the Windham County Humane Society, PO Box 397, Brattleboro, VT, 05302, a cause that reflects her lifelong love of animals.

She is deeply missed and will never be forgotten.
