Autumn is a season of change and new beginnings. The leaves turn, the gardens are put to bed, and a new school year brings new schedules and routines for students and parents. For Jewish people, fall also marks the arrival of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, the holiest days on the Jewish calendar.
Last year at this time, my first “A Window into Judaism” column explained the meaning and traditions of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Rather than repeat myself, this year I’d like to look at the High Holidays from a different perspective: Vermont style.
