Bennington 250 for 250th gala planned

The Bennington 250th Committee invites the community to come together for the 250 for 250th year end gala. The festive evening will take place Sunday, September 27, from 4 to 7 pm, at The Henry House, an inn built in 1769, 1338 Murphy Road, North Bennington.

Guests will toast the successes of 2026 and get a glimpse of what’s ahead for 2027, Vermont’s anniversary year. The evening will feature a colonial-inspired dinner catered by Four Chimneys Inn, a cash bar with the first drink free, and a free tasting of Village Garage Vermont Republic Rye in commemorative rocks glasses.

The event is part of Bennington 250th’s membership program, 250 for 250th, created to bring the community together during this once-in-a-generation historical anniversary.

250 for 250th members receive special benefits throughout the anniversary celebrations, including commemorative membership pins, invitations to special events, discounts on 250th anniversary merchandise, the Bennington 250 newsletter, preferred seating at ticketed events, a signature on the official 250th anniversary scroll, and more.

The price for current 250 for 250th members for the event is $50; members may also invite a guest for $75. Current members can attend the gala for free when they recruit a new 250th member. Members and guests are encouraged to come in Revolutionary attire – but flintlock’s are optional.

As Bennington marks 250 years since the Battle of Bennington and the extraordinary events that helped shape the American Revolution, this is a chance to honor history while becoming part of history.
