John Rodgers will continue to help rural Vermont
To the Editor:
I am endorsing John Rodgers for reelection as lieutenant governor because I have worked with him and seen firsthand his commitment to rural Vermont.
During my more than a decade of time in the legislature, John has been the only statewide elected official to regularly attend and support the Vermont Rural Caucus, a tri-partisan group of legislators focusing on issues impacting rural Vermont. He and his office have stayed engaged with us, offered assistance, and used his platform to bring attention to the challenges facing our communities. John isn’t constantly seeking the spotlight for this work, but he is constantly supporting the effort to shine a light on the challenges and successes happening in rural Vermont. I appreciate his consistency and his commitment.
Showing up actually matters. Rural communities need leaders who listen, ask questions, and keep working with us after the meeting ends. We need people willing to work across political differences to solve problems. My experience working with John gives me confidence in his commitment to that work.
I invite you to meet him on Sunday, October 18, from 5 to 6:30 pm, at Dover Town Hall, 189 Taft Brook Road, next to the Dover Free Library. Bring your questions. Tell him what is working, what is getting harder, and where state government needs to do better. You deserve the opportunity to hear directly from the people asking for your vote.
I hope you will join us and consider supporting John Rodgers on November 3.
