Library hosts several events over week

DOVER- On Friday, August 2, at 7 pm, the Dover Free Library presents the universal stories musical group, the Incurable Semantics.  
Incurable Semantics is a quartet that plays an eclectic mix of original music and covers. Their repertoire includes folk and alt-country favorites from such notable songwriters as Kate Wolf, Emmylou Harris, and Gillian Welch, among others. The quartet consists of Jennie Reichman on guitar, Chris Smith on drums and percussion, Jonny Sheehan on bass, and Greg Howe on guitars and mandolin. Incurable Semantics are known for their dynamic instrumental textures and warm vocal harmonies.
On Monday, August 5, the Dover Free Library presents “Star Trek VI,” starring William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and DeForest Kelly. The movie starts at 5:30 pm and runs for 113 minutes. The movie is rated PG.
“Alien Invaders” is on display at the Dover Free Library on Tuesday, August 6, at 6:30 pm. Aliens are all around us. Hidden in plain sight, many of the plants and animals in our own back yards originated in far-off lands.  Our ability to travel and move cargo from place to place quickly has allowed invasive species to become a way of life in all corners of the world.  Southern Vermont Natural History Museum educator Michael Clough will bring some live plant and animal examples and introduce the concept, issues, and potential solutions to these alien invaders.  
This family event is part of the “A Universe of Stories” summer reading program and is appropriate for all ages; some subject matter may be challenging for kids under 8 years old.
