10 years ago:
Three downtown Wilmington businesses, The Old Red Mill, Gallery Wright, and Beadz Needs reopened after extensive repairs and renovations due to flood damage from Tropical Storm Irene. Many more buildings remained damaged and under renovation, but a Wilmington beautification committee spruced up building facades and grounds with holiday decorations and artwork neatly mounted in the frames of missing or boarded up windows.
