In my haste to thank everyone who participated in this year’s Memorial Day ceremony and events, I failed to mention the Historical Society of Wilmington. Every year they generously lend us old military uniforms and historical memorabilia, which are on display at Memorial Hall during the two-day Memorial Day activities.
This year is the society’s 50th anniversary. The Historical Society is located at the Barber House on 5 Lisle Hill Road and is open on Sundays from 1 to 3 pm.
