Artist of the Month: Helen Eddy

WARDSBORO- The artwork of Helen Fuller Eddy will be on display through the month of November, as the featured artist of the month at The Wardsboro Library, 170 Main Street.
Eddy grew up in the United Kingdom and has been connected to the Stratton area since the early 1960s. However, the family name of Eddy dates back to the mid 1800s. She has lived in Germany, Texas, and eventually came to reside in Maryland where she did social work for 28 years. She became a full-time Stratton resident in 2007.
Her interests and talents are in various mediums of art, sewing, knitting, gardening, reading, and baking. She has taken informal art lessons in Germany and several  classes at a college in Maryland. She is mostly a self-taught artist with a focus on portraiture. She works with graphite, charcoal, pastels, acrylics and oils.
Every two months, the Wardsboro Public Library features a new exhibition in the library lobby called “Artist of the Month.” The featured artists come from Wardsboro, Stratton, or  artists who have lived in these towns in the past. The exhibition is open to the public, free of charge, during library hours. For art works that are for sale, artists can choose to donate a small portion of the proceeds so that other artists may participate.
Library hours are Monday and Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 7 pm, and Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm. The library is located at 170 Main Street.
